Role and Responsibilities of Grocery Cashier:

As a Grocery Cashier at Food Lion, you will be responsible for delivering prompt, precise, and welcoming customer interactions while adhering to the company's service protocols. Collaboration with the Customer Service Manager and Assistant Customer Service Manager will be integral to maintaining front-end operations at optimal levels for increased sales and customer contentment.

• Welcome every client with a smile and address them by their name if known.
• Transfer groceries from carts onto the conveyor belt, arranging them in convenient clusters for efficient bagging.
• Prior to finalizing orders, it is important to inspect shopping carts and child seats for any remaining items.
• Adhere to proper bagging protocols and scan purchases for customers.
• Process payment transactions following established norms.
• Monitor protocols for managing cash flow and authorize overrides when necessary.
• Extend aid to patrons requiring assistance and offer takeaway options.
• Stay vigilant and request assistance when needed to uphold service expectations.
• Collect shopping carts from the parking area and ensure tidiness at work areas.
• Follow the regulations regarding attire and uniform standards to project a neat and businesslike image.
• Notify the relevant management about any issues with the register's functioning or maintenance requirements.
• Verify that the MVP KIOSK is functioning correctly and stocked with paper.
• Adhere to all regulations, protocols, and safety measures set forth by the organization.
• Inform quality assurance about any necessary cleaning or maintenance tasks and address any hazardous situations promptly.
• Fulfill online training requirements and carry out additional assigned tasks.

Required Skills and Experience of Grocery Cashier:

• It is preferable to have completed high school or an equivalent level of education.
• Proficient communication and customer service abilities are essential for successful interactions with clients.
