Department Clerk

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Department Clerk, you will provide excellent customer service and assist with daily department operations. Responsibilities include:

• Provide exceptional customer support by greeting and assisting customers with inquiries about department products
• Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals
• Maintain the freshness and appeal of product displays by stocking, rotating, and arranging items effectively
• Label and package products according to company standards
• Follow proper procedures for quality assurance, food safety, and sanitation
• Monitor product freshness and remove items that do not meet company quality guidelines
• Assist in inventory management, ordering tasks, and product display setups as directed
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment according to company policies

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and dedication to maintaining quality and adhering to food safety regulations
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently as needed
• Capability to handle, stock, and transport department products and materials

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in bakery, deli, or food service operations
• Knowledge of proper food safety and handling procedures
• Ability to communicate in multiple languages
