Role and Responsibilities:

The Florist is responsible for increasing customer confidence and loyalty by providing courteous and prompt service, maintaining consistent operating conditions, and delivering fresh, appealing floral products in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Key responsibilities include:

• Greet, assist, and thank customers in a courteous and friendly manner, ensuring continuous attention to their needs.
• Design and create floral arrangements for holidays, special events, and celebrations.
• Manage inventory, in-stock positions, pricing integrity, merchandising, expense control, and other operational processes according to company standards.
• Ensure department merchandising aligns with community needs, maintaining proper shelf allocations to guarantee availability.
• Offer floral product suggestions and recommendations when appropriate.
• Stock and rotate floral products to ensure freshness and date control while minimizing waste and supply costs.
• Operate floral tools and department equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area; report any unsafe conditions to management promptly.
• Notify management of theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or any activities violating company policies.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in creating floral arrangements.
• High standard of integrity and reliability.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Florist Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of placement.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Work in a retail environment with exposure to various temperatures, including cold storage areas.
