Role and Responsibilities:
As a Stocking Clerk, you will maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked grocery department to ensure a seamless shopping experience for customers. Your main responsibilities include:
Unload incoming deliveries and transport merchandise to designated storage areas.
Replenish shelves following store planograms to ensure proper product placement.
Rotate inventory using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
Label items accurately with prices and ensure clear signage throughout the department.
Maintain neat, organized, and visually appealing product displays for customers.
Monitor stock levels and notify management when replenishment is needed.
Perform inventory counts and keep backstock areas organized.
Remove damaged, expired, or recalled products promptly and safely.
Assist customers with questions, product guidance, and locating items.
Keep aisles clear and safe to provide a hazard-free shopping environment.
Stay informed on promotions, seasonal items, and new product arrivals.
Clean and sanitize shelving, displays, and storage areas regularly.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper lifting techniques and equipment use.
Report hazards or equipment issues to management immediately.
Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient store operations.
Communicate effectively with supervisors about inventory and operational needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in retail, grocery, or stocking preferred but not required.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or collaboratively.
Basic math skills for pricing, labeling, and inventory tracking.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Attention to detail and ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
