Role and Responsibilities:
As a Assistant Store Manager,You will support the management and duties of store operations to meet financial and sales goals, build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support of Food Lion Strategy
- Support the management and operations of the store to achieve financial and sales goals.
- Hire, train, and develop associates while managing performance through coaching and appraisals.
- Provide leadership and motivation that reflects Food Lion’s Guiding Principles, Core Values, and Strategy.
- Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness and ensure fast, friendly service.
- Oversee security, safety, and food safety compliance within the store.
- Control store funds, assets, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Utilize company tools such as financial reports, scheduling systems, and inventory management systems.
- Act as Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is not present.
- Promote adherence to Standard Practices to maximize sales and minimize shrink.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Department Manager or equivalent leadership experience required.
- Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate associates across multiple departments.
- Good judgment in problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, lifting, and working in varied temperatures.
- Computer proficiency and ability to use handheld devices for store operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent education preferred.
- Accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
- Previous multi-department management experience in a retail environment.
