Role and Responsibilities of Warehouse Receiving Associate:
As a DSD Warehouse Receiving Associate, you will ensure the proper receiving of Direct Store Delivery (DSD) products by following Food Lion policies and procedures. You will also help maintain compliance with company standards, enhance sales through excellent service, and protect company assets while minimizing shrink.
- Ensure an enthusiastic customer-aware atmosphere by providing quick, amiable, and accurate assistance.
- Display a positive demeanor and offer assistance to others in a kind manner.
- Ensure the safety of company possessions by accurately monitoring the receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
- Comply with the vendor receiving rules instituted by Food Lion.
- Collaborate with vendors to address mistakes, policy infractions, or surplus stock.
- Partner with the Assistant Store Manager to guarantee that vendor promotions are timely and well-executed.
- Implement the weekly merchandising notes in a manner that maximizes efficiency and productivity.
- Ascertain the correctness of DSD plan-o-grams.
- Maintain a system for documenting and storing daily and weekly DSD tickets, along with beer and wine invoices.
- Ascertain that there are no outstanding invoices by reconciling EDI invoices.
- Ensure that all reclamation and compensation tasks are conducted correctly.
- Administer responsibilities as a Chief Administrative Officer, which includes overseeing the stocking and rotation of cigarette cartons.
- Tap into company tools such as ACIS (Average Cost Inventory System) and CAO ordering application.
- Conform to the company's guidelines, policies, and customary protocols.
- Enforce practices that prioritize food safety and workplace safety, promptly correcting any unsafe conditions to maintain a secure environment.
- In line with Food Lion protocols, promptly report accidents with both associates and customers to the Manager on Duty.
- Ensure alignment with the regulations enforced by local, state, and federal authorities.
- Demonstrate professionalism and cleanliness by wearing the official Food Lion uniform and ensuring your name badge is visible at all times.
- Successfully navigate through Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packets, and Training Aid courses.
- Fulfill further obligations as directed.
Required Skills and Experience of Warehouse Receiving Associate:
- Individuals with a high school diploma or similar qualification are preferred candidates.
- Displays advanced abilities in interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer support areas.
- Competence and readiness to master various tasks and address technical job expectations.
- Integrating technical information in problem-solving methodologies.
- The job functions necessitate adherence to the specified age restrictions for successful performance.
- Competency to meet the physical criteria of the job, with or without reasonable modifications.
Physical Requirements of Warehouse Receiving Associate:
- Accomplished in employing computers and additional communication systems necessary for work duties.
- Engage in repetitive hand and arm exercises.
- Continuously bend and lift items weighing up to 15 lbs., frequently manage 25 lbs., and occasionally handle 50 lbs. loads.
- Occasionally move or transport items that weigh up to 75 lbs.
- Remain upright and engage in frequent short-distance walking.
- Engage in activities involving substances utilized for cleaning and storing packaging materials, fruits, plants, and household sanitation products.
- Regularly conduct currency transactions and operate various equipment such as registers, lottery machines, scanners, computers, and calculators.
- Perform frequent reaching and grasping at waist level; occasionally reach above shoulder/below waist.
- Satisfy the productivity requirements established for the role.
- Undertake tasks in extreme temperatures, whether hot or cold, for no longer than 20 minutes as necessary.
