Role and Responsibilities:
As a Liquor Sales Clerk, you will help strengthen customer trust and loyalty by providing courteous service, ensuring smooth store operations, and maintaining a professional and friendly environment. You will uphold regulatory compliance, deliver exceptional customer service, and contribute to the overall success of store operations. Key responsibilities include:
Compliance (50%): Monitor customers, verify age identification, refuse sales of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated individuals, and prevent open containers from leaving the store.
Customer Excellence (25%): Greet and assist customers politely, provide product suggestions as needed, and respond promptly to customer inquiries.
Operational Excellence (25%): Stock and rotate products to maintain freshness, efficiently restock supplies, operate equipment and cashier systems accurately, maintain a safe and clean work area, and report hazards or equipment issues.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
0–3 years of relevant retail experience.
Minimum age of 21 years.
Completion of TIPS Training prior to start date.
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Authorization to work in the United States.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
High integrity and reliability.
Basic computer skills for completing online training.
Strong customer service skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Supervisory experience in a retail setting.
Additional certifications or training, such as Cicerone Certification, Alcohol Compliance Training, Beer Science & Styles, Wine & Spirits Training, Cigar/Humidor Training, and related modules including cashier, service desk, grocery stocking, pricing, and MOD training.
