Job Summary of Checkout Associate:

As a Checkout Associate, your primary focus will be on delivering excellent customer service through efficient and accurate checkout processes while maintaining a friendly demeanor. It is crucial to handle all transactions correctly and keep the front-end area tidy and orderly. Your responsibilities also include helping customers with inquiries, endorsing charity initiatives, and adhering to all operational guidelines to contribute to a secure, productive, and enjoyable shopping environment.

Responsibilities of Checkout Associate:

• Accurately and efficiently process all customer transactions
• Provide proper change and receipts for all purchases.
• Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Promote current charitable campaigns and promotional offers to customers.
• Properly bag customers orders in a safe, organized, and efficient manner, using reusable or paper/plastic bags as requested.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-end area, including registers, belts, and surrounding floor space.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling money and using register equipment.
• Observe all company policies related to register operations, returns, voids, and overrides.
• Notify management of any issues related to equipment, pricing, or customer concerns.
• Assist with restocking impulse items and maintaining front-end merchandising displays.
• Work cooperatively with front-end team and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Stand at register for the duration of the scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
• Work overtime as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of Checkout Associate:

• The operation of register equipment independently requires individuals to be at least 18 years old.
• Proficiency in English includes the skills to comprehend, communicate, and analyze written and spoken language effectively.
• Proficiency in executing fundamental mathematical operations, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
• Capable of remaining on one's feet and moving around throughout the entire assigned work period.
• Capability to flex, turn, extend, and pick up objects weighing up to 25 lbs. on a consistent basis, with occasional tasks involving items up to 50 lbs.
• Skill to engage with clients in a welcoming and businesslike approach.
• Proficiency in efficiently managing numerous transactions with precision within a dynamic setting.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively with colleagues and adhere to company guidelines regarding punctuality and attendance.
