Job Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Bakery Manager:

• Promote excellent customer relations by encouraging positive, service-oriented behaviors in associates.
• Take and fulfill customer orders, ensuring product appearance, size, and flavor meet expectations.
• Decorate cakes and bakery products using approved designs or custom requests; follow all recipes precisely.
• Assist Bakery Manager with merchandising, ad execution, and day-to-day operations; perform manager duties in their absence.
• Oversee inventory levels, track sales, and monitor physical inventory processes.
• Schedule, train, and lead bakery associates; use Learning Management System for ongoing development.
• Create merchandising plans aligned with financial goals and current promotions.
• Verify and manage department deliveries and invoices; ensure correct product rotation and storage practices.
• Control expenses by improving operations, managing labor, and reducing spoilage and shrink.
• Maintain appealing and fully stocked displays to meet customer demand.
• Ensure products are fresh, saleable, correctly priced, and clearly signed; remove non-saleable items promptly.
• Support production of breads, pastries, and baked goods following recipes and production logs.
• Collaborate with coworkers to maintain smooth operations and improve performance.
• Use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves and safety footwear.
• Assist in other departments as needed to support overall store operations.

Qualifications and Experience of Assistant Bakery Manager:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in business or food service preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or supermarket environments.
• Previous cake decorating experience preferred.
• Ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
