Job Summary of Stock Clerk:

As a Stock Clerk, your primary responsibilities involve safely unloading and restocking grocery products while ensuring top-notch customer service. You will follow company guidelines, adhere to food safety rules, and maintain cleanliness standards to assist in store operations and maintain a well-organized and visually appealing grocery section. Your duties will also include handling deliveries, managing inventory, and offering friendly support to customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities of Stock Clerk:

• Follow approved procedures for receiving, code dating, storing, price marking, arranging, and restocking products to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Unload and secure received products in appropriate storage areas using power or hand jacks, carts, U-boats, or bossies as needed.
• Block and face all products in accordance with Company policy or as assigned.
• Ensure that featured sale merchandise is attractively signed to stimulate sales.
• Handle all product not worked to the shelf according to department standards.
• Utilize CGO and handheld terminal to maintain and order merchandise to keep product in stock.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Maintain sanitation and QA standards, including sweeping, mopping, and removing cardboard and refuse as needed.
• Operate a baler or compactor in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Local, State, and Federal regulations related to Night Crew operations.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Company rules, policies, safety requirements, and security standards.
• Lift, pull, push, and rotate merchandise weighing 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Unload trucks and transport merchandise to the Grocery Department as needed.
• Stand in the designated work area for the duration of the scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
• Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
• Understand and adhere to Company shrink guidelines related to departmental operations.
• Follow Company procedures for reclamation and the disposal of cardboard and plastic.
• Maintain communication within the department and with store leadership.
• Assist the Department Manager as needed.
• Dress and groom according to Company policy, including uniform, name badge, and hair restraint requirements.
• Perform duties in accordance with QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food.
• Greet all Customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Observe all safety regulations when operating equipment.
• Handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to Company policy, prioritizing perishable and date-sensitive items.
• Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance and report any failure immediately (where applicable).
• Be knowledgeable about the various types of products carried in the store.
• Utilize and maintain equipment properly; report any equipment issues immediately.
• Complete all applicable department training programs.
• Perform all duties in accordance with ShopRite Service Priorities (Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency).
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
• Work overtime as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of Stock Clerk:

• Individuals need to be at least 18 years old to handle balers, hi-lo's, power jacks, and slicing machines.
• Proficiency in English involves the capability to effectively comprehend, communicate, and analyze information using the language.
• Capacity for executing fundamental mathematical operations.
• Capability to be on one's feet and move around throughout the entire assigned work period.
• Capable of standing, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting weight up to 25 lbs routinely, with the occasional ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Having the capacity to operate effectively in a range of temperatures.
• Capability to handle fresh, dehydrated, or manufactured items, spices, and powders without adverse consequences.
• Capacity to endure exposure to dust and cleaning solutions while performing regular household cleaning tasks.
• Skill in engaging with clients in a pleasant and supportive manner.
• Capacity to collaborate effectively with others.
• Capability to adhere to all designated work shifts and follow all policies regarding punctuality and attendance.
