Role and Responsibilities:

You are tasked with ensuring customers receive exceptional service and are enticed to return by providing an exceptional customer experience and upholding a neat and secure environment. Your assistance in achieving sales and profit targets and supervising quality assurance standards, as well as collaborating with the Deli/Bakery team to interact with customers, will be essential.

• Improve customer interactions through exceptional service and the introduction of new products via complimentary product samples.
• Maintain a secure and clean environment within the department to meet food safety regulation requirements.
• Conduct precise tasks of organizing, wrapping, marking, and cataloging cheese items.
• Review sell-by dates of items and implement strategies to prevent shrink.
• Provide details about current promotions at the Cheese Shop and offer assistance with any inquiries related to the available products.
• Adhere to recipe directions by blending and measuring ingredients with the appropriate kitchen utensils and gear.
• Categorize, designate, and oversee inventory items within the department, informing management of any variations noted.
• Manage the right temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining accurate temperature records.
• Support safety campaigns by pinpointing and reporting instances of unsafe conditions and events.
• Work together harmoniously in a fast-moving setting and deal with conflicts in a skilled way.

Essential Capabilities and Qualifications:

• Effective communication skills.
• Foundational math capabilities, including counting, summing, and subtracting.
• Calmly handling difficult situations without losing control.
• The completion of high school or a similar educational background is expected.
• Previous exposure to retail environments is desirable.
• Being well-versed in the products within the department to offer guidance and recommendations.
• Proficiency in following instructions and seeking assistance as and when needed.
• Skill to complete essential job tasks with or without reasonable adaptation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• In-field experience in a retail or grocery store.
• Awareness of proper food handling and sanitation measures is important.
