Front-End Cashier

Job Summary of Front-End Cashier:

In the role of a Front-End Cashier, your main responsibility is to ensure that customers receive a top-notch checkout service by processing transactions quickly and accurately while also being friendly. You will need to handle all payments correctly and keep the front-end area clean and well-organized. Furthermore, you will be expected to assist customers with any queries, participate in charitable promotions, and adhere to all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe, efficient, and enjoyable shopping environment.

Responsibilities of Front-End Cashier:

• Accurately and efficiently process all customer transactions
• Provide proper change and receipts for all purchases.
• Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Promote current charitable campaigns and promotional offers to customers.
• Properly bag customers orders in a safe, organized, and efficient manner, using reusable or paper/plastic bags as requested.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-end area, including registers, belts, and surrounding floor space.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling money and using register equipment.
• Observe all company policies related to register operations, returns, voids, and overrides.
• Notify management of any issues related to equipment, pricing, or customer concerns.
• Assist with restocking impulse items and maintaining front-end merchandising displays.
• Work cooperatively with front-end team and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Stand at register for the duration of the scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
• Work overtime as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications of Front-End Cashier:

• Register equipment can only be operated independently by individuals who have attained the age of 18.
• Effective communication in English requires the skills to read, write, speak, and comprehend various forms of language proficiently.
• Skill in executing elementary mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Necessary capacity to stand and ambulate for the complete duration of the shift.
• Accomplishment in the capability to curve, revolve, extend, and heave loads of up to 25 lbs. regularly, with occasional tasks involving items up to 50 lbs.
• Competence in customer interaction that is both amiable and professional.
• Proficient in efficiently processing numerous transactions with accuracy in a high-speed environment.
• Ability to engage in teamwork and adhere to the organization guidelines concerning punctuality and attendance.
