Job Summary of Meat Packaging Associate:

To package meat and associated goods following the guidelines set by the company. Make sure items are correctly labeled, stored at the appropriate temperature, and displayed in an orderly manner to uphold quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities of Meat Packaging Associate:

• Wrap, weigh, price, and label meats and related products.
• Order supplies for department (wrapping materials and labels).
• Communicate low stocked items to the department manager.
• Stock display case.
• Communicate temperature failure to department manager.
• Provide friendly, courteous customer assistance.
• Maintain good cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Observe policies and procedures established for the department.
• Observe all state, local, and federal health, weights, and measures laws.
• Greet all customers and be observant.
• Abid by all company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
• Assist in the maintenance of the price book.

Qualifications of Meat Packaging Associate:

• Having the skill to interpret and record information accurately for product labeling.
• Proficiency in hand coordination is necessary for the proper wrapping and manipulation of items.
• Capability to endure prolonged exposure to severe cold conditions when dealing with frozen or chilled meats for at least fifty-five percent (55%) of the time during an eight-hour shift.
• Being able to endure temperatures as low as negative fifteen degrees Fahrenheit for up to five percent of an eight-hour shift is required.
• Capable of lifting objects weighing up to seventy pounds on a regular basis for at least forty percent of the workload.
