As a Dairy Produce Clerk, your main duty revolves around providing customers with a satisfying experience through overseeing the pricing, stocking, and rotation of merchandise in the Dairy Department. It is crucial to sustain a neat, clean, and secure work setting, and to guarantee that all products are fresh, accurately labeled, and attractively exhibited. Moreover, you will need to engage with customers, offer assistance as needed, and deliver efficient and courteous service, while adhering to company policies, safety regulations, and sanitation standards, and fulfilling any additional obligations essential for aiding departmental operations.

Responsibilities of Dairy Produce Clerk:

• Emphasize the importance of a clean, neat, and secure workspace for employee wellbeing.
• Ensure that all work surfaces, utensils, and equipment meet sanitation and QA standards through proper cleaning and sanitization procedures.
• Ensure the floor remains free from any obstructions or wet patches.
• Engage in the routine lifting, pulling, pushing, and turning of items weighing 25 lbs., with occasional tasks involving items weighing 50 lbs.
• Assist in unloading and moving merchandise from trucks to the Dairy Department, working with items that typically weigh 25 pounds but can sometimes be as heavy as 50 pounds.
• Ensure that you are stationed in the designated work area for the duration of the scheduled shift, even if it exceeds 8 hours per day.
• Meet all obligations within the Dairy operation under Local, State, and Federal regulations.
• Adhere to the company's rules on dressing and grooming, ensuring to wear the designated uniform, present a name badge, and use a hat or hair restraint as stipulated.
• Conduct activities in accordance with the QA hand washing policies and wear disposable gloves when touching food.
• Successfully attend and complete all department training sessions.
• Ensure customers are greeted warmly and receive assistance promptly and politely.
• Help out the Dairy Manager with any necessary duties.
• Ensure accurate and legible pricing on items by using approved price marking devices when necessary.
• Increase sales by ensuring that promotional merchandise is clearly signed and displayed.
• Document markups, markdowns, in-store product usage, and spoiled merchandise in compliance with Company procedures.
• Update and manage unit price tags for all products, making price changes as required.
• Ensure to validate prices and have a good grasp of the layout of items in the store.
• Advertise ongoing charitable sales promotions to potential buyers.
• Ensure that the deliveries align with the invoice documentation and utilize the receiving log to position signed invoices in the designated area.
• Ensure proper stocking and rotation of all dairy products on shelves, cases, and relevant displays in adherence to tag allocation and departmental guidelines.
• Place and secure the newly arrived goods in the assigned refrigerated storage areas using appropriate tools like carts, bossies, or hand jacks. Arrange and position the items in alignment with the company's guidelines or any provided directives.
• Remain alert to the temperatures and operational conditions of refrigerated storage areas and display cases, and immediately notify the relevant key personnel of any problems or failures.
• Understand the various types of dairy products, paying attention to aspects such as taste profiles, preparation methods, cost variances, and so on. Use CGO to monitor inventory levels and place orders efficiently, integrating the use of a handheld terminal for smoother transactions.
• Comply with the guidelines for using and maintaining equipment as specified by the Department and immediately report any equipment issues.
• Follow Company guidelines meticulously, encompassing rules, safety protocols, and security measures, and comply with all health and civil code regulations at the Local, State, and Federal levels.
• Perform responsibilities in alignment with the Company's HAZCOM strategy and adhere to the manufacturer's label instructions for the secure and proper use of all chemical items.
• Participate in and complete all relevant departmental training workshops.
• Ensure that all responsibilities are fulfilled according to the ShopRite Service Priorities (Safety, Amicability, Visuals, and Productivity).
• Understand and adhere to the procedures outlined by the Company to control shrink in the Dairy Department.
• Maintain a punctual presence and regular attendance.
• Stay longer at work as instructed.
• Coordinate efforts with fellow individuals for mutual benefit.
• Execute any other assignments as deemed necessary.

Qualifications of Dairy Produce Clerk:

• Must be 18 years or older to operate balers, hi-lo's, power jacks, and slicing machines.
• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
• Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas.
• Ability to work in refrigerated coolers and high moisture rooms for extended periods of time.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
