Bakery Supervisor

Role and Responsibilities:

As the Bakery Department Supervisor, you will assist in scheduling, supervising, and guiding Bakery Team Members while supporting the Bakery Team Leader and Associate Team Leader(s). You will oversee daily operations, maintain appealing displays, and uphold Whole Foods Market's service and quality standards.

• Supervise and delegate tasks to Bakery Team Members.
• Support training of new Team Members using checklists and training materials.
• Work with Bakery Trainer to develop and sustain a high-performance team.
• Ensure bakery, coffee, and juice cases and shelves are clean, stocked, and rotated.
• Open and close the department following established procedures.
• Ensure all Team Members receive required breaks.
• Communicate team concerns to Team Leaders and management.
• Maintain customer focus by directing Team Members to address customer needs and questions.
• Foster a positive environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and strong morale.
• Provide timely performance evaluations and consistent communication of goals and standards.
• Model Whole Foods Market's vision and commitment to service and quality.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive knowledge of Bakery team procedures and policies.
• 12+ months of retail experience.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal, motivational, and team-building abilities.
• Thorough product knowledge and advanced understanding of safety and regulatory policies.
• Ability to teach, mentor, and coach others constructively.
• Proficient math skills for financial performance assessment, inventory management, and profitability monitoring.
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand or walk for 6 8 hours, bend, twist, squat, push, pull, and work in wet/dry conditions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfort using tools and equipment such as knives, box cutters, pallet jacks, and ladders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven leadership experience in a retail or bakery environment.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and retain high-performing teams.

Compensation and Benefits:

The wage range for this position is $17.50 $30.20 hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits,” which may include:
