Job Summary of Grocery Processing Assistant:
The Grocery Processing Assistant is responsible for assisting the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen Managers in the successful operation and profitability of the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen departments.The Grocery Bulk Assistant is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and restocking the bulk foods section to ensure an attractive, clean, and well-supplied shopping area.

- Emphasizing world-class customer service as the top priority.

- Establishing inclusive and well-curated departmental spaces that enhance the shopping journey.
- Supporting departmental managers in ordering groceries, bulk items, dairy products, and frozen goods while maintaining precise inventory records.
- Assisting department managers in effectively managing margin, cost of goods sold, and overall department profitability by minimizing shrinkage and maximizing the efficiency of purchasing practices.
- Validating that the quality of all available products/conditions conforms to the company's policies.
- Offering and then keeping tabs on specialized orders.
- Display solutions such as shelves, endcaps, and vibrant presentations.
- Assisting in coordinating and participating in tagging, presenting, moving items, maintaining cleanliness, marking down prices, restocking, and arranging additional stock.
- Engaging in the training and monitoring of department personnel, which involves assigning tasks and providing feedback.
- Presenting through engaging and passive demos.
- Assisting departmental managers in managing and enhancing team performance.
- Providing support for store opening and closing protocols, involving activities such as maintaining the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and handling cash transactions, as well as executing duties linked to cashier wrap-up procedures.
- Engaging in various aspects of register duties, including acting as a backup cashier, processing customer refunds, resolving customer concerns, and managing register shift transitions, especially during employee breaks as scheduled.
- Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.
- Handling customer questions based on company standards and policies, incorporating statements that endorse health and nutrition in a manner consistent with prescribed guidelines.
- Tirelessly expanding knowledge about various product lines.
- Leveraging the functionalities of SAP and inventory management software, and utilizing email and other information systems software as necessary.
- Working a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings.
- This role involves a few manager on duty responsibilities but is not expected to be the primary manager on duty for the store.
Qualifications of Grocery Processing Assistant:
- Preference is often given to applicants who hold a high school diploma, GED, or a similar qualification.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a year of experience in a grocery or retail environment, with additional consideration for those with a background in natural foods.
- Having supervised others for a year is a plus.
- Satisfying legal mandates by passing food safety training programs and certifications and continuously maintaining compliance by renewing certifications and adhering to registration protocols.
- Ability to manage fluctuating responsibilities and stay focused on the task at hand.
- Prioritize a rapid and effective approach to task fulfillment.
- Exhibit superb customer service skills.
- Extremely systematic with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Skill in receiving instructions and carrying out actions accordingly.
