Retail Liquor Associate

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Retail Liquor Associate, you will contribute to building customer trust and loyalty by providing courteous service, maintaining smooth store operations, and supporting a professional and friendly environment. You will ensure compliance with regulations, deliver exceptional customer service, and help drive operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

• Compliance (50%): Monitor customers, verify age identification, refuse sales of alcohol or tobacco to underage or intoxicated individuals, and prevent open containers from leaving the store.
• Customer Excellence (25%): Greet and assist customers politely, offer product recommendations as appropriate, and address customer needs promptly.
• Operational Excellence (25%): Stock and rotate products to ensure freshness, replenish supplies efficiently, operate equipment and cashier systems accurately, maintain a clean and safe work area, and report hazards or equipment issues.
• Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 0–3 years of relevant retail experience.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Completion of TIPS Training prior to start date.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
• High integrity and reliability.
• Basic computer skills for completing online training.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Supervisory experience in a retail environment.
• Additional certifications and training, such as Cicerone Certification, Alcohol Compliance Training, Beer Science & Styles, Wine & Spirits Training, Cigar/Humidor Training, and relevant modules including cashier, service desk, grocery stocking, pricing, and MOD training.
