The Assistant Meat Store Manager for the Meat and Seafood departments plays a vital role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring top-notch standards in product quality, freshness, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities of Assistant Meat Store Manager:

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Meat & Seafood team.
• Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Meat & Seafood team
• Knowledge of weekly ad items and assists with inventory and ordering; enforcing and following department practices regarding the receiving, stocking and unloading of product to ensure freshness and quality and is able to perform and follow our Clean as You Go and Fresh at 4 Programs.
• Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain meat & seafood equipment
• Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Meat & Seafood team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures.

Qualifications of Assistant Meat Store Manager:

• Must be over 18 years old and possess a fundamental understanding of mathematics, as well as knowledge of weights and measurements. Applicants should have at least two years of relevant work experience, demonstrated skills in leadership, and ideally, 2 to 3 years of hands-on involvement in Meat department operations within the grocery retail sector.
• Show consistency and trustworthiness while carrying out additional tasks as required.
• Exhibit a sociable and approachable demeanor, demonstrating a positive outlook and ease in engaging with our clientele.
• Being able to adapt to a flexible schedule that may vary in response to shifts in business demands, including working during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess strong communication abilities and can effectively engage in teamwork while being receptive to instructions
• Undertake routine department maintenance by tidying and disinfecting the workspace, such as cleaning tables, floors, walls, display cases, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Follow all safety, health, and Weights and Measures guidelines, as well as adhere to the Company's recipes.
• The ability to stand continuously for four hours and a total of eight hours per shift is required, with walking up to two miles within an eight-hour period being mandatory.
• Maintain cleanliness in the department by performing general housekeeping duties within a controlled temperature environment, including sanitizing work surfaces like tables, floors, walls, coolers, and freezers.
• Having excellent eyesight is essential when using tools like sharp knives, a band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Capable of moving items horizontally/vertically within a weight range of 25 to 90 lbs., over distances ranging from 4 to 60 feet, for up to 10 feet for a duration of 20 hours.
• Skill in operating a pallet jack is needed to shift pallets sideways weighing up to 500 lbs., necessitating an exertion of up to 85 lbs., over a distance of up to 100 feet within a timeframe of 5 hours.
• Capable of moving shelves of items weighing up to 70 lbs., with a force of up to 25 lbs., horizontally over a distance of up to 50 feet for a maximum of 10 hours.
• Capable of relocating tables with a weight limit of 70 lbs., necessitating a force exceeding 35 lbs., over a distance of up to 2 feet for a duration of 1 hour.
