Job Summary of Dairy Team Member:
The Dairy Team Member helps the Dairy/Frozen Manager oversee the department’s daily operations and profitability. This role includes stocking, rotating, and organizing dairy and frozen items to maintain freshness and strong presentation. Additional duties include unloading deliveries, checking product dates, setting up displays, and ensuring all pricing and labels are correct.
Responsibilities of Dairy Team Member:
- Ensuring that the main priority is providing exceptional customer service.
- Portraying integrity, accountability, and excellence and adhering to all policies and regulations.
- Building welcoming, extensive, and user-friendly departments.
- Helping the department manager in sourcing products for the dairy and frozen departments and managing inventory with precision.
- Supporting department managers in monitoring margin, COGs, and overall department profitability, with a key focus on reducing shrink and maximizing the effectiveness of procurement.
- Checking to guarantee that all products in inventory meet the prescribed company standards.
- Managing special requests and maintaining communication regarding them.
- Displaying products on shelves, endcaps, and interactive promotional setups.
- Supporting in overseeing and engaging in categorizing, frontal presentation, shifting, tidying, lowering prices, replenishing, and storing back-up supplies.
- Providing guidance and supervision to department staff in their training and task management responsibilities.
- Active demonstrations require direct involvement from the presenter, whereas passive demos allow the audience to observe without participation.
- Partnering with the department managers to deal with performance-related issues within the department.
- Assisting in the smooth running of store opening and closing operations, which includes handling tasks like generating the Daily Sales Report (DSR), managing cash transactions, and completing cashier closeout responsibilities.
- Duties encompassed in register functions include overseeing backup cashiers, processing returns for customers, managing customer complaints, and handling changes in register shifts, such as covering scheduled breaks.
- Ensuring the safety and security of both customers and employees.
- Addressing customer queries according to company standards and practices, which may involve using health-promoting statements or emphasizing nutritional support.
- Regularly advancing product knowledge.
- Incorporating the use of SAP and inventory management software, alongside email communication and the utilization of other IS programs as needed.
- Working a schedule based on store needs which includes evenings, weekends, holidays. Position requires working five days, 40 hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings.
- The role's duties as a manager on duty are restricted, without the expectation of assuming full managerial responsibilities for the store.
Qualifications of Dairy Team Member:
- Candidates with a high school diploma, GED, or similar credential are preferred.
- Ideally, applicants will have spent at least a year working in a grocery or retail setting, with a preference for those with knowledge of natural foods.
- Candidates with previous supervisory roles highly favored.
- Achieving proficiency in food safety training courses and certifications in accordance with legal specifications and continuously meeting requirements through regular certification updates and registration if required.
- Demonstrating the capacity to handle shifting priorities effectively while maintaining concentration on current tasks.
- Embrace a proactive mindset when tackling tasks to ensure timely execution.

Physical requirements of Dairy Team Member:
- Must have the ability to constantly lift or carry up to 10 lbs., frequently lift or carry 11-20 lbs., and occasionally lift or carry 21-50 lbs. Must also have the ability to occasionally lift or carry 51-100 lbs. with a team lift.
