General Cashier

Job Summary of General Cashier:

General Cashier should handle a cash register and check-out area competently and politely, in line with all front-end procedures and business policies. They should also aim to secure customer satisfaction by providing swift and friendly service.

Responsibilities of General Cashier:

• Efficiently scan and verify grocery orders.
• Pinpoint the departments and modifiers that are not compatible with scanning technology.
• Utilized the scan and bag method to improve productivity, adhering to customer instructions when packing items.
• Securely store and verify the cash in the drawer before commencing your work shift.
• Manage payment transactions carefully and maintain compliance with the company’s standards for accountability and financial oversight.
• Carry out void processes correctly to maintain transaction integrity.
• Properly identify various types of produce and input their respective lookup codes correctly.
• Enforce security regulations such as shoplifting prevention, rules on employee purchases, monitoring bottom-of-basket items, and managing informal information dissemination.
• Understanding the proper guidelines for store supply handling.
• Knowing the details of the weekly advertisement and Hot Sheet discounts.
• Maintain excellent customer service standards by correctly acknowledging and thanking individuals.
• Adhering to the guidelines set forth in the company's Employee Handbook.
• Support with maintaining cleanliness in the front end space.
• Aid in replenishing stock or maintaining store presentation as required.

Qualifications of General Cashier:

• Must have dexterity in hands to be able to scan/key groceries.
• Must have strong communication skills to ensure excellent customer service.
• Strong mathematical skills required to run the registers.
• Must be able to lift up to twenty five (25) pounds up to forty percent (40%) of the time.
• Must be able to stand upright for the majority of your scheduled work shift.
