Bakery Production Assistant

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Bakery Production Assistant you will manage daily bread and bakery manufacturing operations to maintain consistency, quality, and productivity. You will work closely with team members to ensure smooth operations while meeting safety and hygiene standards.

• Ensure accurate measurements by using scales when combining ingredients and following the correct mixing sequence.
• Carry out the processes of segmenting, shaping, proofing, and baking various types of bread and bakery treats following designated recipes and timelines.
• Follow and carry out all culinary prescriptions, directives, and scheduling agendas.
• Manage the cleanliness of workspaces, mixers, utensils, and machinery.
• Utilize PLUs, UPC codes, and Globalbake software for enhanced recipe printing functionalities.
• Properly sanitize and manage bakery equipment like mixers, chillers, and dispensers to meet safety standards.
• Ensure that all operations align with FSMA, HACCP, health guidelines, sanitation practices, and organic standards for optimum performance.
• Finish all necessary trainings, attend meetings, and comply with PPE and scheduling requirements as instructed.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Being a minimum of 18 years old and having the capacity to comprehend and converse in basic English are necessary requirements.
• Expertise in manual manufacturing processes and baking procedures.
• Extensive familiarity with baking elements, gear, and proportions.
• Sound grasp of math concepts and the capability to make rapid mental calculations.
• Entry-level knowledge of computers and software, including understanding Globalbake.
• Strong communicator with excellent organizational capabilities.
• Expertise in assessing and discerning the quality of products through tasting.
• Capable of executing responsibilities solo or in a collaborative environment with minimal supervision.
• Capable of lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for 8 hours, and carrying out tasks such as bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Experienced in completing tasks while exposed to temperatures ranging from negative 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Eagerness to participate in rotating schedules that incorporate nights, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Tangible involvement with Hobart mixers, compactors, knives, and bakery manufacturing tools.
• Displaying self-driven determination alongside a talent for resolving issues proactively and independently.

Compensation and Benefits:
