Role and Responsibilities:

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items for cold cases, fresh packs, salad bars, and hot bars while maintaining presentation and sanitation standards. You will ensure consistency, freshness, and excellent customer service in alignment with Whole Foods Market's values and food safety standards.

• Arrange food products for refrigeration, fresh packaging, salad bars, and hot buffet counters following the instructions and recipes provided on the production sheets.
• Guarantee the quality and freshness of prepared items through appropriate labeling, dating, covering, monitoring, and rotation.
• Monitor the status of food supplies and replenish items promptly when needed.
• Be punctual, appropriately groomed, and prepared for scheduled shifts; attend all necessary training sessions and meetings.
• Provide outstanding customer assistance, promptly attend to customer inquiries, and demonstrate successful sales tactics.
• Improve sales potential by adhering to best practices in preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
• Adhere to prescribed guidelines for Weights and Measures, sanitation protocols, and safe working procedures.
• Maintain a tidy and hygienic working and shopping environment; ensure equipment, storage compartments, and cold storage devices meet cleanliness standards.
• Conduct opening, mid, and end-of-day tasks meticulously to confirm the accuracy of signs and pricing.
• Timely report safety hazards and violations upon discovery.
• Follow through with additional tasks as directed by supervisors at the store, regional, or national levels.

Required Skills and Experience:

• In-depth product knowledge with the skill to precisely follow recipe directions.
• Knowledge of food preparation and basic cooking methods.
• Numerical proficiencies essential for accurate food preparation and portioning.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative spirit.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 to 12 months of retail employment experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly wage ranges from $16.50 to $30.20, based on experience, structured around a standard 40-hour workweek.
