Meat Counter Clerk

Job Summary of Meat Counter Clerk:

Effective management of pricing, stocking, and rotation is necessary in the Meat Department to provide customers with quality products.

Responsibilities of Meat Counter Clerk:

• Provide assistance with unloading and dividing the delivered goods.
• Transfer goods to designated stock spaces for safe storage.
• Unseal boxes and, if needed, apply accurate pricing to products.
• Keep store shelves well-stocked in accordance with designated tag distributions.
• Assist in arranging store showcases and organizing meat bunker inventory.
• Stay vigilant in rotating perishable goods and removing any items that are past their expiration date as needed.
• Regulate the quantity of defective items and address them as outlined by the company's guidelines.
• Support in the cleaning and sterilization of the meat processing area as required during the work shift.
• Organize the assigned section before departing at the end of your scheduled work shift.
• Follow the standard operating procedures set forth for each department within the organization.
• Greet customers as they enter the establishment and maintain a keen awareness of their actions.
• Conform with the dress code policy of the company to project a sharp and organized image.
• Adhere to the rules and standards outlined in the company's Employee Handbook.
• The program works towards maintaining prices and protecting products from external influences.
• Maintenance of sales and rear sections.

Qualifications of Meat Counter Clerk:

• Ability to read and write to properly tag merchandise, maintain proper inventory level and ensure rotation of product.
• Ability to unload, transport, and place merchandise in specific areas.
• Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
