Job Summary of Associate Store Manager:

The Associate Store Manager holds the second-highest position at the store and oversees the successful functioning and financial success of the store, which involves supervising, guiding, and overseeing all department employees.

Responsibilities of Associate Store Manager:

  • Visitors receive welcoming and assistance following the established service guidelines for top-tier customer experience.
  • It is required for all company managers to conduct themselves in a professional manner and offer suitable guidance to the employees.
  • Customer grievances are addressed in a manner that aligns with the established procedures of the company.
  • The shop offers a welcoming and easily navigable environment for customers.
  • Items that customers are interested in purchasing are currently available for purchase.
  • Special requests are managed in accordance with company regulations.
  • Ensures adherence to company guidelines when answering phone calls and spends the majority of their time on the sales floor aiding customers, guiding employees, and overseeing various departments.
  • Educating employees on providing exceptional customer service through training sessions and enforcing accountability measures for their actions.
  • Making sure that the employees meet the required state or county certifications and registration for food safety.
  • The Assistant Store Manager's role involves guaranteeing that the store is performing at or above anticipated levels in specific aspects:
  • Sales ratios of stores and departments compared to labor hours allocated
  • The Mean Ticket Price, Number of Clients, and Expenses on Sold Products in the Produce Department
  • EBITDA
  • Verifies that products are sourced from the appropriate suppliers to secure the rightful discount and uphold profit margins.
  • Sustains compliance with corporate expectations for available inventory
  • The product assortment is kept under observation, which involves:
  • Regular evaluation of departments to retain best-performing products and cease those with very low sales rates
  • The company policy necessitates the introduction of fresh products regularly.
  • Ensures that fresh items are regularly replaced and arranged according to company guidelines.
  • Markdowns are regulated according to the guidelines established by the company.
  • Charged with aiding the Associate Store Manager in recruiting, instructing, and overseeing all store staff according to company guidelines.
  • Trains employees, delegates responsibilities, and ensures task completion.
  • Verifies that both master and daily schedules are precise, thorough, and aligned with the requirements of the store. Ensures that schedules are promptly displayed and assigns tasks every day based on the task sheets provided by the company.
  • Collaborates with department heads to allocate employees for various tasks as required each day.
  • Trains and supervises employees to maintain a cohesive in-store atmosphere, aiding customers across all departments.
  • Collaborates with department heads to provide employees with training in multiple areas to complete various tasks.
  • Collaborating with employees to guarantee sufficient understanding of products to fulfill customer requirements, educating staff on how to locate solutions to customer inquiries through store tools and references.
  • Supports the Store Manager in facilitating and carrying out performance reviews for all store employees with the collaboration of department heads. Aids in authorizing salary adjustments as necessary.
  • Conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions based on input from various department heads to meet the staffing requirements of the store.
  • Handles all performance and/or disciplinary concerns in a timely manner, seeking support from the Human Resources department when needed.
  • Consistently communicates clearly and directly with store employees, involving facilitating regular staff gatherings and sharing corporate updates and notices.
  • Responsible for enforcing adherence to safety protocols consistently.
  • Guarantees that all edits to Ulti-time are completed promptly.
  • In charge of aiding the Store Manager in instructing, mentoring, and enhancing the skills of store staff.
  • He/she motivates employees to enhance their understanding of nutrition and product information.
  • He or she responds to customer inquiries, making sure that store personnel also address them according to company regulations, which may involve utilizing Structure/Function statements and statements related to nutritional support.
  • Achieves operational duties efficiently, including managing daily schedules, checklists, and opening and closing tasks.
  • Makes sure that all store documentation and reports are finished promptly, such as the Monthly Manager's Report.
  • Successfully and precisely finishes the DSR and Manager's Cash in a timely manner.
  • Answers all calls from department managers while on shift and helps with scheduling coverage for meal and rest periods.
  • Dealing with occasional disturbances to regular business operations, such as handling loiterers, solicitations, unexpected weather events, and inappropriate use of facilities.
  • Adheres to a flexible schedule according to the requirements of the store, which may involve working evenings, weekends, and being allocated 45 hours of work on a weekly basis.
  • Guides employees on how to endorse decisions from the headquarters, heeds instructions from the central office, and effectively executes the assigned tasks.
  • Reviews and adheres to correspondence (memorandums, facsimiles, electronic mails) from headquarters while at home.
  • Adapts easily to evolving job requirements to achieve objectives.
  • Managers are anticipated to take on leadership roles within the workplace, serving as examples of the high level of performance and professionalism expected.

Qualification of Associate Store Manager:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is necessary with at least 1-2 years of managerial background in grocery or similar retail settings, preferably with knowledge in the natural foods sector.
  • Skilled in handling shifting priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrating the capacity to complete relevant food safety training programs and pass assessments necessary to acquire mandated certifications according to state or county regulations.
  • It is necessary to acquire certification for operating a forklift.
  • Ensure that you stay compliant by staying current on your food safety certifications through ongoing training and being properly registered with the relevant authority where necessary.
  • Demonstrates a strong drive to complete tasks promptly and maintains excellent organization skills.
  • Demonstrates outstanding abilities in serving customers.
  • Being able to receive instructions and carry them out effectively.
  • Required to have received training for cashier duties.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is a necessity.
