As a Distribution Center Receiver, you will be instrumental in upholding accuracy, safety, and efficiency in the receiving operations that are essential for the effective movement of products across the supply chain.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Carry out tasks associated with the reception and storage of goods, including unloading shipments, verifying using RF devices, organizing products in specific areas, overseeing cross-docking operations, and picking flow-through items.
- Arrive at the workstation on time, dressed appropriately, and ready for all scheduled shifts.
- Adhere to OSHA and Whole Foods rules when operating a powered pallet jack or forklift.
- Maintain a workplace that is orderly, sanitary, and hazard-free.
- Comply with the safety standards outlined by OSHA and the facility.
- Report all accidents or injuries immediately to the Team Leader or Facility Leadership.
- Receive deliveries from trucks, cross-check with the bill of lading, log details into the warehouse management system, and prepare for storage allocation.
- Inspect incoming products to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Label merchandise appropriately for storage after verification.
- Perform storage procedures as needed and maintain all equipment involved in the task.
- Ensure accurate reception, staging, and selection of goods in smooth flow.
- Correctly stage all cross-dock items upon arrival.
- Maintain clear and organized receiving areas for products, recyclables, and waste.
- Load reusable materials and products onto trucks for shipping.
- Accurately complete all inbound paperwork.
- Attend all team and facility meetings as scheduled.
Mandatory Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in safely operating all required equipment.
- Commitment to meeting customer service expectations with vendors, customers, and team members.
- Ability to complete tasks thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
- Understanding of quality objectives and comprehensive product knowledge within WFM operations.
- Demonstrated accountability and responsibility in completing tasks.
- Attention to detail and precision in completing paperwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in receiving operations.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly wages range from $22.00 to $39.60, depending on experience.
- Benefits include health insurance, retirement benefits, store discounts, paid time off, and the option to participate in additional benefit programs.
- Eligibility for Whole Benefits is determined by the plan in effect at the time of hire.
