Role and Responsibilities:

As a Deli Clerk, you will provide support in the Prepared Foods department through food preparation, counter service, sanitation, and product stocking. You will ensure a positive customer experience while following Whole Foods Market standards, values, and safety regulations.

• Cut, prepare, and serve hot and cold foods such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, burritos, wraps, salads, and pizza.
• Sample products to customers and engage in suggestive selling techniques.
• Stock hot and cold cases and displays with fresh prepared foods, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
• Assist Team Leader in organizing and merchandising seasonal and high-volume items.
• Complete spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Perform inventory checks and support periodic stock reviews.
• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and respond to requests promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, Weights and Measures, and safety practices.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment, following Whole Foods Market standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties, ensuring accuracy of signage and pricing.
• Report safety hazards and violations immediately.

Preferred Qualifications:

• No prior retail experience required.

Compensation and Benefits:

The wage range for this position is $16.00 $25.40 per hour, commensurate with experience. New entry-level Team Members who complete their first 90 days may be eligible for a base rate increase. Whole Foods Market offers Whole Benefits, which may include:
