Job Summary of Shopping Cart Collector:

Being a Shopping Cart Collector at ShopRite entails the collection and retrieval of carts or carriages from the parking lot, as well as offering help to customers with their groceries when requested. This position plays a crucial part in optimizing the performance of the front-end operations through the promotion of cleanliness, systematization, and exceptional client assistance.

Responsibilities of Shopping Cart Collector:

• Collect empty shopping carts from designated areas in the parking lot and return them to the store’s cart holding areas.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work/shopping environment both inside and outside the store.
• Remove debris from carts before returning them to the store.
• Assist customers with loading groceries into their vehicles when requested.
• Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Handle damaged or return-to-stock products according to company policy, with attention to perishable items and expiration dates.
• Promote for sale any current charitable campaigns to customers.
• Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of products in the store.
• Report any equipment issues or hazards to management immediately.
• Dress and groom according to company policy, including wearing the required uniform, name badge, and hair restraint if applicable.
• Perform duties in accordance with QA hand washing standards and use gloves when handling food.
• Follow all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the front-end operation.
• Understand and follow all company rules, policies, safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
• Utilize and maintain equipment as required by the department.
• Perform all duties in accordance with ShopRite service priorities: Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency.
• Stand and walk for the duration of scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
• Regularly lift, push, pull, and rotate merchandise up to 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
• Work overtime as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with others and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications of Shopping Cart Collector:

• To operate balers, hi-los, power jacks, and slicing machines, one must be over 18 years of age.
• Adequate English language proficiency encompasses the ability to analyze and interpret information accurately.
• Capability to engage in simple mathematical computations.
• Demonstrating the capacity to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, and pull without interruption throughout the work schedule.
• Proficiency in carrying out responsibilities outside under different weather circumstances for an extended time frame.
• Aptitude for interacting with clients in a pleasant and supportive demeanor.
• Aptitude for enduring dust and cleaning solutions while executing routine domestic chores.
• Competence in fulfilling all designated work shifts and abiding by timekeeping policies.
