Role and Responsibilities of Fresh Foods Associate:

As a Fresh Foods Associate, you are responsible for ensuring quality standards are met, delivering excellent customer service, and assisting in sales growth while reducing shrinkage. Your duties include creating a positive shopping environment, following company procedures, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

• Promote an ambiance of enthusiastic customer consciousness, with an emphasis on speedy, friendly, and precise service.
• Provide respectful and beneficial support to team members.
• Leverage the resources provided by the company including the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS) and ordering tools like Computer-Assisted Ordering (CAO).
• Manage the receipt of shipments, code items as appropriate, ensure proper product rotation, and store them in the right locations.
• Ensure that all actions related to merchandise, from ordering to display, are in line with the policies specified by the company.
• Preserve adequate inventory levels for meat, sandwich meats, frozen products, dairy items, and ice cream.
• Execute the beef processing and grinding procedures in alignment with the planned production tool guidelines.
• Cover, tag, measure, and categorize meat as needed.
• Proper maintenance of grinders includes assembling, disassembling, and cleaning them as needed.
• Adhere to proper sanitation practices while maintaining the layout and variety standards of the department.
• Check that advertising and promotional content meets compliance obligations.
• Conform to the prescribed guidelines, policies, and standard practices of Food Lion.
• Observe the rules and regulations put in place to ensure safety in both food safety and workplace safety aspects.
• Notice, rectify, and escalate unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty.
• Comply with regulations from local, state, and federal sources to maintain legality.
• Follow the guidelines by wearing the Food Lion uniform, including an apron and a name badge, to project a neat and professional image.
• Conclude the essential training, incorporating Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Packets.
• Comply with any other assignments given.

Required Skills and Experience of Fresh Foods Associate:

• Having a high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred for this role.
• Proficiency demonstrated in interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer assistance skills.
• Readiness and potential to learn numerous tasks and technical job necessities.
• Harnessing specialized knowledge to tackle problems.
• Satisfying the required age criteria is a fundamental requirement for engaging in the job functions.
• Fulfilling the physical standards of the position, with the potential for reasonable modifications if necessary.

Physical Requirements of Fresh Foods Associate:

• Utilize computers and other communication devices as necessary.
• Engage in repetitive gestures with the hands and arms.
• Perform consistent bending and lifting activities with objects weighing up to 15 lbs., regularly handle loads of 25 lbs., and occasionally lift items weighing 50 lbs.
• Push or pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Stand constantly while incorporating frequent walks into your daily activities.
• Regulate the substances used for cleaning and packaging tasks.
• Reaching and seizing objects is a common action at waist level, with occasional variations that involve reaching either higher or lower.
• Maintain productivity levels as outlined.
• Tolerate working conditions marked by extreme heat or cold for durations of 20 minutes or less.

Preferred Qualifications of Fresh Foods Associate:
