Qualifications:

• Having a solid grasp of elementary math and the ability to handle cash is desired.

Primary functions, crucial tasks, and essential responsibilities:

• Provides stellar member support by warmly welcoming members, processing transactions efficiently, and answering questions politely.
• Checks items using the POS system to verify prices and keep track of stock quantities accurately.
• Manages multiple forms of payments, including cash, checks, credit, and mobile transactions.
• Discusses and clarifies the advantages of membership, extensions, and upgrades like BJ's Loyalty and EASY Renewal schemes.
• Validates the accuracy of transactions by issuing receipts and ensuring correct change is provided.
• Provides troubleshooting assistance to individuals encountering simple technical problems at self-service checkout areas.
• Oversees the cleanliness of the front-end location, registers, and customer payment sections.
• Remains current with promotions and advertisements to notify members of discounts and special promotions.
• Complying with club regulations and protocols to maintain operational superiority and member happiness.
• Completes extra assignments as instructed, including helping out in other departments as requested.
• Punctual and reliable attendance is a key component of this job.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• Consistent time spent on foot and moving on tough surfaces.
• Infrequent stooping, reaching, and carrying loads of up to 30 lbs (heavier items assisted by others).
• Primarily set indoors with limited exposure to changes in temperature or loud sounds.
• Occasional handling of cleansing agents.
