Job Summary for Bakery Associate:

Ensures that all bakery items are correctly cooked and completed by adhering to the specific product handling instructions using appropriate equipment such as ovens. Takes out bakery products from the freezer and arranges them in appropriate quantities as per the recommendations outlined in the bakery production chart, which also includes guidance on safe storage and handling procedures. Adheres to the sanitation and safety regulations set for the bakery department, maintaining a clean and secure environment.

Primary duties, obligations, and essential responsibilities:

• Provides responses to inquiries and suggests bakery selections. Handles incoming requests from patrons and processes customized requests.
• Bakes and completes the baking process for all bakery items in adherence to the specific handling instructions for each item, utilizing ovens and other relevant tools. Relies on bakery production charts to inform the production process and ensure that there is an adequate supply for display requirements. Collects items that require preparation for the upcoming operational day.
• Prepares assorted baked items like cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, breads, and cakes upon request. Takes out frozen bakery products and arranges them according to suggested quantities specified in the bakery production schedule.
• Enhances custom or unique item with decorative elements.
• Rotates and organizes baked goods according to established protocols for food safety, product freshness, and handling guidelines.
• Accepts, examines, and stores deliveries of bakery items. Manages the rotation and storage of bakery goods in accordance with guidelines for food safety, product freshness, and handling protocols.
• Verifies the freshness and adherence to quality benchmarks of all items to align with company standards. Conducts daily assessments to identify expired goods and adheres to protocols for managing stale inventory.
• Creates stickers and tags for bakery products and conducts price verification tasks as needed. Ensures the correct pricing for all items.
• The bakery worker is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting various bakery equipment, display fixtures, and food preparation areas, such as ovens, utensils, refrigerated displays, racks, and tables.
• Uses bakery machinery following correct operational procedures while adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
• Adheres to all the regulations and protocols of the club.
• Carries out additional responsibilities as required, such as assisting in other divisions as necessary.
• Consistent, anticipated, complete attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position.

Qualifications:

• Previous involvement in a bakery or a customer-centric setting is advantageous.
• Experience with bakery items desirable.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

Environmental Job Conditions:

• The majority of the time is dedicated to moving on smooth surfaces that are not hard. At times, there might be a necessity to adjust one's position for the purpose of inspecting or surveying products, which may involve activities such as bending, gripping, dragging, extending, shoving, and/or crouching.
• Regular lifting of items weighing up to 30 pounds is often necessary. On occasion, there may be a need to move heavy or bulky objects exceeding 30 pounds with the help of others.
• Situated in a cozy indoor setting that experiences regular temperature variations due to exposure to freezers, ovens, and coolers.
• Cleaning products are often used regularly.
