Part Time Cashier

Role and Responsibilities:

As a Cashier, you will play an essential role in customer satisfaction and store efficiency. Your responsibilities include:

• Present a friendly and professional demeanor when meeting customers.
• Effectively conduct customer transactions by processing cash, credit cards, debit cards, coupons, and loyalty program benefits.
• Offer assistance by addressing questions about products and providing helpful suggestions.
• Maintain adherence to company policies that govern restricted items, like alcohol and tobacco, to ensure compliance.
• Keep the cash register zone clean, organized, and hazard-free.
• Verify the cash register balance and adhere to cash-handling policies to mitigate possible losses.
• Promote Kroger's services, initiatives, and special deals such as loyalty programs and feedback surveys.
• Follow company guidelines when reporting pricing discrepancies, potential safety hazards, and instances of theft.
• Support teamwork by assisting associates and maintaining a positive workplace environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Ability to deliver excellent customer care in fast-paced environments.
• Basic arithmetic skills including counting, addition, and subtraction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage stress while remaining professional.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent credential.
• Previous experience as a cashier, courtesy clerk, or customer service representative.
• Ability to communicate in multiple languages.
