Job Summary of Payment Processing Clerk:
As a Payment Processing Clerk, you will deliver a great customer experience by providing fast, accurate, and friendly checkout service. You will ensure proper handling of all transactions and maintain a clean and organized front-end area. You will assist customers with questions, promote charitable campaigns, and follow all company policies and procedures to support a safe, efficient, and pleasant shopping experience.
Responsibilities of Payment Processing Clerk:
- Accurately and efficiently process all customer transactions
- Provide proper change and receipts for all purchases.
- Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
- Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
- Promote current charitable campaigns and promotional offers to customers.
- Properly bag customers orders in a safe, organized, and efficient manner, using reusable or paper/plastic bags as requested.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front-end area, including registers, belts, and surrounding floor space.
- Follow all safety procedures when handling money and using register equipment.
- Observe all company policies related to register operations, returns, voids, and overrides.
- Notify management of any issues related to equipment, pricing, or customer concerns.
- Assist with restocking impulse items and maintaining front-end merchandising displays.
- Work cooperatively with front-end team and other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Stand at register for the duration of the scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours per day.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
- Work overtime as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications of Payment Processing Clerk:
- Register equipment independent operation is solely for individuals aged 18 years and above.
- Being proficient in English means having the capacity to comprehend, express, analyze, and interpret information using the language effectively.
- Proficiency in handling foundational mathematical processes, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Mandated to stand and walk continuously throughout the designated work period.
- Adept at performing actions such as bending, twisting, extending, and lifting weights up to 25 lbs. regularly, and on occasion, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to engage with customers in a genial and business-appropriate demeanor.
- Skillful in managing various transactions swiftly and accurately within a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in team-oriented work and following all company directives related to time and attendance.
