Working closely with management and fellow associates, the role focuses on ensuring the store is clean, safe, and organized, with punctuality and teamwork being essential to success.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Grocery Assistant:

• Efficiently receive and store fresh produce, ensuring it meets company standards.
• Unload fresh and boxed produce from delivery trucks and store them in designated areas using a hand truck.
• Count and weigh incoming produce and ensure the invoice matches the delivered goods.
• Inspect produce in storage, rotating stock to avoid aging and maintain quality.
• Prepare fresh fruit for sale by cutting it into pieces suitable for individual sale.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning equipment and storage areas.
• Use slicers, mixers, and other equipment with precision and care, following safety procedures.
• Lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds as part of regular duties.

Qualifications and Experience of Grocery Assistant:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Previous experience in produce handling is a plus but not required.
• Physical capability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and work efficiently in a cool atmosphere.
• Comfortable using equipment like slicers and wrapping stations safely.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist customers effectively.
• Organizational skills to manage produce rotation and storage efficiently.
