Class A Shift Driver

Position Summary

We’re looking for dependable and safety-driven Class A Shift Drivers to join the Giant Food transportation team. As a key part of our logistics operation, you’ll operate Class A tractor-trailers to deliver grocery products to Giant Food stores and facilities.

This is a shift-based position, requiring flexibility to work any shift, including overnight, weekend, and holiday schedules. Our drivers play a vital role in keeping our stores stocked and our customers happy.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A tractor-trailer trucks on local delivery routes.

• Load, transport, and deliver grocery and perishable products to Giant Food stores.

• Unload products efficiently and verify orders upon delivery.

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.

• Follow all DOT and company safety standards.

• Maintain accurate trip logs, route paperwork, and delivery documentation.

• Provide excellent service and communication with store teams and dispatch.

• Work flexible schedules based on store and route demands.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) required.

• Minimum 1 year of recent CDL-A driving experience (not including school).

• Safe driving record — no DUIs in the past 3 years and no multiple DUIs in the past 7 years.

• No points or major traffic violations in the past 24 months.

• Ability to work any shift, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

• Must pass drug screening and background checks.

• Experience driving 48’ or 53’ trailers preferred.

• Strong time management, reliability, and customer service skills.
