Job Summary:

Job Requirements:
- Qualifications Needed: Successful undertaking of a specialized skills assessment; experience ranging from 6 to 12 months or achievement of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
- A lack of a high school degree is not a barrier to meeting this educational standard
- Requirement for Lifting: Weight limit set at 50 pounds
- The required age is a minimum of 18 years
Job Responsibilities:
- Transfer cakes from the preparation area to the sales zone to stock tables and showcase counters with freshly made desserts.
- Implement appropriate procedures to ensure the store meets its goals for out-of-stock percentages.
- Incorporate merchandising strategies that aim to boost revenue while also delighting customers.
- Handle individualized orders from clients over the phone and in personal interactions.
- Preserve the high quality of the products on offer by routinely checking the sales floor to ensure that items are within their expiry dates and in good condition.
- Track and document daily acknowledged losses.
- Safety should be paramount in all areas of our work, safeguarding the well-being of our team, visitors, and inventory.
- Provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and ensuring they are able to locate the products they are looking for. Bakery Team Members are also expected to have sufficient knowledge to answer questions and make suggestions to our customers.
- Inspire your peers and patrons by showcasing a deep passion for food and a dedication to exceeding expectations in delivering high-quality meals.
- Abide by the appropriate methods for overseeing products and equipment in alignment with the prescribed food safety and safety standards to guarantee a secure shopping environment.
- Maintain the sanitation of devices, workspaces, utensils, flooring, and related elements to adhere to safety and cleanliness protocols.
- Set up and adorn goods for the Bakery exhibitions and presentations, regularly rotating their arrangement and observing code dating procedures to make certain that only the freshest products are on offer for sale.
- Follow appropriate safety and sanitation measures, emergency plans, steritech guidelines, safe lifting techniques, and cleanliness procedures to maintain department standards.
- Accurately document special instructions for Bakery orders to exceed customer expectations with the end product.
- Follow departmental procedures, daily preparations, order management, familiarity with copyright policies, and appropriate product sequencing.
- Stay current on new product knowledge and operational procedures, covering areas like categorized product insights, customized orders, cake varieties, serving quantities, seasonal assortments, and color combination techniques.
- Use spatulas and icing bags to ice cakes and embellish them with creative decorations.
- Arrange the icing and necessary items for all cakes and other adorned products by carefully going through recipes, accurately measuring components, and effectively mixing the product.
- Aid in the effective operation of Bakery storage spaces by assisting with the unloading of deliveries.
- Engage with departmental equipment like mixers, scales, airbrush guns, knives, protective gloves, and safety footwear to carry out tasks effectively.
- Aid in other aspects as requested or deemed essential.
