Store Representative

Job Summary of Store Representative:

The Store Representative reports directly to the store manager and indirectly to both the assistant store managers and shift leaders.This position is responsible for duties such as cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and monitoring perishables. The Store Representative provides excellent customer service and assists in maintaining excellent daily store conditions. This position accomplishes all job duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities of Store Representative:

• Conducts cash register operations skillfully and executes checkout procedures at a performance level that meets or exceeds the expected standards. This encompasses achieving the minimum transaction time per item and accurately handling and counting a range of payment methods like cash, EBT, debit cards, credit cards, WIC vouchers, gift cards, coupons, and checks.
• Abides by the standard procedures and policies for check-out transactions and cash handling.
• Demonstrates ongoing success in meeting or exceeding the defined standards regarding the handling, stocking, and maintenance of grocery, frozen, dairy, smoked meat, and perishable items.
• Assists with the transfer of goods from delivery trucks to the designated area.
• Utilizes platforms, shelving units, peg hooks, or refrigerated displays to organize and showcase merchandise effectively.
• Arranges items as needed while ensuring the precision and quality of the received goods, both in physical form and in the inventory system.
• Picks up and organizes trolleys from the parking area.
• Upholds superior store conditions consistently.
• Works to keep the workplace safe and free from clutter.
• Carries out specified cleaning duties, ensuring the cleanliness of floors, windows, display cases, shelves, register area, backroom, restrooms, parking lot, and other necessary fixtures.
• Provides exceptional customer support, ensuring communication is friendly and courteous.
• Plays a role in coaching and teaching fellow store associates under store management's direction.
• Administers the correct rearrangement of goods, regardless of their date labels.
• Validates the appropriate pricing and display of products by ensuring the presence of price tags/signs as directed by the company.
• Ensures the safety and preservation of corporate assets, financing, and merchandise.
• Presents, trims, packages, and restocks authorized natural selection.
• Supports new team members as requested.
• Manages other tasks, such as contributing in different store departments as stipulated.

Qualification of Store Representative:

• The minimum age requirement is 18 years or above.
• Candidates who have completed high school or hold an equivalent certification are favored.
• Solid retail sales experience with a specialization in dry grocery, perishable goods, meat, general grocery items, cash control, and top-tier customer service preferred.
• Proficiency in teamwork and effective at resolving issues.
• Essential skills include proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.
• Demonstrate effectiveness in communicating verbally and in writing, while also showcasing strong interpersonal proficiency.
• Basic math aptitude, comprising addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and basic computer skills, are prerequisites.
• Exhibiting reliability and adaptability is essential to meeting scheduled shifts and being open to working in other parts of the store with little to no prior notice.
• Compliance with safety standards is a must.
• Compliance with a consistent dress code is a fundamental requirement.

Physical Requirements of Store Representative:

• The position mandates the physical ability to stretch, bend, balance, lift, and convey various items weighing between 20 to 50 pounds on a recurring basis throughout the shift; occasionally, the weight of items could be between 50 to 80 pounds.
• Must have the ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for prolonged periods of time.
• This position mandates the ability to push, pull, grip, twist, and engage in sawing motions continuously.
• Frequently performs duties in refrigerated settings, freezers, coolers, and delivery trucks, facing different weather conditions inside and outside the store.
