Freight Handler

As a Distribution Center Receiver, your contribution is vital in ensuring the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of the receiving processes that underpin the seamless transportation of products throughout the supply chain.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Handle functions related to the intake and storage of goods, including unloading deliveries, verifying with RF scanners, organizing items in specified locations, overseeing cross-docking operations, and selecting flow-through inventory.
• Arrive punctually, dressed appropriately, and fully prepared for all scheduled shifts.
• Observe OSHA and Whole Foods standards for operating a powered pallet jack or forklift.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and well-kept work environment.
• Comply with all OSHA and facility safety regulations.
• Report accidents or injuries immediately to the Team Leader or Facility Leadership.
• Receive and inspect truck deliveries, verify against the bill of lading, enter into the warehouse management system, and stage for storage allocation.
• Ensure incoming products comply with food safety regulations through inspections.
• Properly label merchandise for storage following verification.
• Carry out storage duties as needed and maintain all relevant equipment.
• Maintain accuracy in receiving, staging, and selecting products in the flow-through process.
• Stage all cross-dock products appropriately.
• Keep receiving areas, recyclables, and trash zones unobstructed and organized.
• Load sustainable materials and other products onto trucks for shipping.
• Complete all inbound documentation accurately.
• Attend all team and facility meetings as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of experience in receiving operations.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly compensation ranges from $22.00 to $39.60 depending on experience.
• Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, store discounts, paid leave, and participation in additional benefit programs.
• Eligibility for Whole Benefits is based on the plan in effect at the time of hire.
