Job Summary of Assistant Shift Manager:
The Assistant Store Manager ensures and creates an excellent shopping experience for customers with a focus on servicing the customer, driving sales growth and profitability.They establish an engaging environment for all team members.The Assistant Shift Manager leads the retail store and ensures the store achieves and maintains the operational standards set forth by the company and the store manager.The Assistant Shift Manager also trains, motivates, mentors, coaches, and develops store team members to ensure delivery of best-in-class store operations. The Assistant Shift Manager ensures all store team members comply with all company policies and procedures, and city, state and federal requirements.
Responsibilities of Assistant Shift Manager:
- Supply leadership, guidance, and development to store team members on their tasks, responsibilities, role requirements, and performance measures
- Cultivate a nurturing and secure retail space that promotes the happiness and security of team members and visitors
- Collaborates with the store manager to establish the weekly agenda for team members
- Oversees the store during the store manager's nonattendance, including managing opening and closing tasks
- Administers and/or orchestrates building preservation efforts
- Exhibits a sincere dedication to the progress, advancement, and success of team members through intensive training, coaching, mentoring, and development support, and collaborates with the Store Manager in enforcing progressive disciplinary actions when required
- Establish a continuous and successful line of communication across all stakeholders, including store team members, store managers, and district managers
- Ensures the store functions according to set operational standards by the company to maximize sales, profitability, and provide customers with a first-rate shopping experience
- Offers superior guidance to maintain outstanding daily store conditions inclusive of daily activities in the produce, meat, and center store departments in complete adherence to the company's operational standards and schemes. Ensures the daily execution of Food Safety protocols, compliance with safety regulations - such as safe power equipment operation, and the accomplishment of excellent daily sanitation standards
- Tasked with managing important aspects of store performance, including sales metrics, customer visits, workforce productivity, and inventory shrinkage
- Analyzes, comprehends, and employs operational and financial data to facilitate informed business decisions in overseeing the store's functioning, either autonomously or in partnership with the store manager
- Accountable for the execution of the merchandising plan, covering plan-o-grams, displays, price signage, shelf markers, and customer loyalty programs
- Ensures customers have access to a superior shopping environment that is pleasant, organized, and hygienic
- Oversees inventory levels as per the store's specific metrics in order to ensure quality, freshness, and effective rotation practices that align with the company's standards
- Responsible for monitoring perishable product range and operations, ensuring adequate stock levels, meeting freshness standards across all perishable departments, and mitigating shrinkage incidences
- Responsible for making sense of sales data and trends to ensure the correct maintenance of ordering and inventory operations
- In charge of enforcing and following all policies and regulations, which involve accounting methods, cash supervision, inventory management protocols, preventing losses, managing payroll activities, ensuring cleanliness, upholding food safety standards, documenting procedures, handling policy violations, and managing administrative tasks.
- Secures food safety certification following company protocols and city/state mandates
- Consistently supports the store manager in their responsibilities
- Undertakes other tasks as delegated
Qualification of Assistant Shift Manager:
- Only individuals who are 18 years or older are permitted to take part
- Meeting the educational requirement involves possessing a high school diploma or similar qualification
- Basic engagement with electronic technology and communications is a cornerstone of technological literacy
- A prerequisite for this position is a minimum of two years of managerial experience
- It is preferred that candidates possess management/leadership expertise in directing others, as well as prior familiarity with creating schedules, merchandising strategies, and financial budgeting and cost supervision
- Individuals with a preference for leadership and management training are sought after

Physical Requirements of Assistant Shift Manager:

- Skill in the application of force to propel, draw, clench, revolve, and carry out sawing gestures for an extended time frame
