The Grocery Dry Foods Associate is crucial in supporting the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen Managers to facilitate the effective operation and financial success of the Grocery/Bulk and Dairy/Frozen departments. Central to the role of the Grocery Dry Foods Associate is the maintenance, organization, and replenishment of the bulk foods division in order to establish an enticing, sanitized, and adequately stocked shopping environment.

Responsibilities of Grocery Dry Foods Associate:

• Giving utmost importance to offering excellent customer service.

• Establishing appealing and easily navigable store departments that drive consumer interaction.
• Assisting departmental managers in the ordering process for grocery, bulk, dairy, and frozen items, and ensuring inventory levels are kept up-to-date.
• Helping department managers in overseeing margin, COGs, and department profitability while emphasizing the importance of shrinkage reduction and efficient procurement practices.
• Ensuring that every product/condition on hand complies with the company's quality benchmarks.
• Offering and ensuring fulfillment of unique requests.
• Product showcasing on shelves, endcaps, and inventive displays.
• Aid in the coordination and involvement in labeling, presenting, shifting, maintaining cleanliness, reducing prices, restocking, and managing extra inventory.
• Assisting in the guidance and surveillance of department personnel through task delegation and follow-up.
• Performing dynamic and static demonstrations.
• Assisting department managers in handling performance issues affecting the department.
• Providing assistance with the initiation and termination of store functions, which entails duties such as maintaining the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and overseeing cash handling, as well as carrying out responsibilities linked to finalizing cashier activities.
• Supervising register operations which entail acting as a backup cashier, processing returns for clients, addressing customer grievances, as well as ensuring coverage for register shifts, including breaks scheduled for employees.
• Safeguarding the welfare and security of both patrons and workers.
• Addressing customer concerns in adherence to company standards, ensuring that responses include health-promoting statements or nutritional endorsements as per guidelines.
• Continuously enhancing knowledge about various product offerings.
• Employing SAP in conjunction with inventory management software, while also utilizing email and additional information systems programs as necessary.
• Responsibilities include adhering to the store's operational hours, which might encompass evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role mandates a full-time commitment of five days weekly, amounting to 40 hours, and compulsory participation in store assemblies.
• The duties associated with this role as a manager on duty are restricted, and it is not the primary manager on duty position for the store.

Qualifications of Grocery Dry Foods Associate:

• It is recommended that applicants have a high school diploma, GED, or a similar level of education.
• Having experience in a grocery or retail environment, especially in natural foods, is advantageous, with a minimum of one year of prior work being preferred.
• Ideal candidates will have one year of experience overseeing others.
