Senior Site Director

Job Summary:

Join Target’s Supply Chain team as a lead operations at one of our large-scale Distribution Centers. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations from logistics, safety, and quality, to team development and financial performance. You will play a vital role in ensuring products are efficiently delivered to our guests while fostering a culture of safety, belonging, and continuous improvement.

Roles and Duties:

• Leadership & Culture: Lead a large-scale distribution team of 30–50 executives and up to 800 team members, cultivating a culture of accountability, inclusion, and operational excellence.
• Safety Management: Champion workplace safety by promoting education, enforcing safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
• Operational Efficiency: Manage freight flow and optimize processes to maximize speed, accuracy, and service to both online and in-store guests.
• Financial Stewardship: Oversee payroll, expense, and capital budgets to meet or exceed fiscal goals while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Inventory & Capacity Management: Ensure 100% on-hand accuracy, monitor inventory reporting, and collaborate with planning teams to optimize space and utilization.
• Quality Control: Drive quality initiatives using root cause analysis, Lean/Six Sigma methods, and preventive measures to maintain >98% on-time order processing.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster innovation by leading Kaizen events, GEMBA walks, and process evaluations to enhance productivity and performance.
• Talent Development: Partner with HR to recruit, train, and mentor team members, ensuring succession planning and performance management across all levels.
• Communication & Collaboration: Build strong internal and external relationships with corporate partners, vendors, and cross-functional teams to align on strategies and initiatives.
• Facility Oversight: Maintain the Distribution Center’s physical assets, ensuring compliance, operational readiness, and brand-standard conditions.
• Assets Protection: Partner with security teams to protect company assets, monitor inventory control, and address operational issues affecting shortage.
• Employee Engagement: Maintain open communication channels, promote positive employee relations, and address team member concerns promptly.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including mezzanines and conveyor crossovers.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic warehouse environment.
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods during on-site operational supervision.

Qualifications:

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Technology, Operations, or Business.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution environments.
• Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis in problem-solving environments.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale teams and drive performance metrics.
• Experience in merchandise flow, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Strong conflict resolution and talent management abilities.
• Willingness to relocate as required.
• Advanced degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Technology, Operations, or Business.
• Formal Lean/Six Sigma training and demonstrated career growth across multiple operational disciplines.
