Bakery Manager

Job Summary:

Are you passionate about the art of baking and skilled at leading a production team? We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Bakery Production Lead to oversee the creation of our wide variety of artisanal breads and sweet baked goods. In this role, you'll do more than just bake you'll manage workflow, ensure product excellence, and mentor a team in a high-volume, customer-focused retail environment. Your leadership will help shape the quality and creativity that defines our bakery offerings for both new and loyal customers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the daily production of over 95 bread varieties and 75 pastry selections with precision and creativity.
• Organize the production area for optimal efficiency and maintain smooth workflow across shifts.
• Monitor product quality and freshness, minimizing shrinkage while maximizing consistency and appeal.
• Oversee and schedule production crew members, including shift planning, breaks, and lunch rotations.
• Manage and fulfill special customer orders with attention to detail and customization.
• Order and inventory raw ingredients to ensure continuous production without overstocking.
• Enforce sanitation and cleanliness standards throughout the bakery department.
• Inspect and maintain all baking equipment to ensure safe and optimal operation.
• Support the onboarding and hands-on training of new production team members.
• Provide direct supervision to the bakery production team, ensuring accountability and high performance.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5 8 years of experience in commercial baking, food production, or related culinary environments.
• Proven expertise in commercial baking techniques, including dough shaping, mixing, and baking.
• Strong familiarity with a wide range of baked goods, including specialty breads and pastries.
• Prior experience in team leadership or supervisory roles within a food service or retail setting.
• Deep understanding of food safety protocols, baking equipment operation, and production flow.
• Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical and Other Requirements:

• Ability to lift 20 lbs or more on an occasional basis.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
• Flexible to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Salary:

Competitive salary commensurate with experience, typically ranging from $50,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on location and qualifications.

Additional performance-based incentives may be available.
