Job Summary of Bakery Management Trainee:
Supervise retail operations for the assigned department, making impactful decisions regarding store associates, merchandise quality and presentation, as well as the service level extended to our customers. Cultivate strong relationships with both associates and customers, and encourage a vibrant culture that supports Hannaford Strategy through store huddles, modeling our cultural behaviors, and the consistent application of all available tools to enhance performance management. Responsibilities of Bakery Management Trainee:
- Establish a positive and diverse environment to ensure the continued satisfaction and loyalty of associates and customers.
- Ensure that all quality guidelines are adhered to.
- Operate department functions in accordance with approved standard practices.
- Sustain the visual appeal and presentation of the department by keeping up with maintenance tasks.
- Recruit, train, and empower associates to align with the needs of the department.

- Monitor the performance of all assigned department associates in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities.

- Ensure adherence to operational and merchandising protocols to boost profitability, prioritizing key product categories for focused attention.
- Cultivate a culture of effective communication that transcends the department and reaches across the organization.
- Ensure that organizational sanitation, safety, and food safety standards are complied with.
- Shrinkage can be better managed by identifying the causes behind it and implementing measures to reduce its occurrence.
- Understand thoroughly the standard practices manual of the department and the specialized Program Manuals for the programs conducted within the departments for which you are responsible.

- A college diploma or its comparable substitute is preferred for this role.
- Individuals are expected to have accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager from the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or a comparable accrediting agency. For those without certification, participation in company-organized training and obtaining accreditation within the first 90 days of employment is a requirement. Ongoing accreditation is compulsory for positions that necessitate it.
Physical Requirements of Bakery Management Trainee:
- Proficiency in computer and communication system utilization is a key requirement for job performance.
- Regularly perform lifting tasks of up to 20 lbs., such as overhead lifting, and occasionally manage weights of up to 60 lbs.
