Role and Responsibilities:

As a Grocery Shelf Stocker at Giant Food, you will help maintain well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing shelves to ensure an excellent shopping experience. You will rotate across departments such as produce, dairy, frozen, and general grocery, supporting smooth store operations and customer satisfaction.

• Stock shelves, displays, and endcaps to ensure product availability.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures to maintain freshness and quality.
• Verify that products are accurately priced and labeled.
• Create and update promotional displays and signage as directed by management.
• Assist customers in locating products and provide helpful guidance.
• Deliver friendly and knowledgeable customer service.
• Resolve minor customer concerns or escalate issues to supervisors when needed.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including shelves, floors, and spill zones.
• Keep backroom and storage areas orderly.
• Notify management promptly of low-stock or out-of-stock items.
• Participate in inventory counts and audits.
• Check product expiration dates and remove expired or damaged items.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other departments effectively.
• Provide support to other departments as assigned by store leadership.
• Contribute to overall store operations and foster a cooperative team environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum age of 16 years (18 for specific departments).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Previous retail or grocery experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in refrigerated areas such as dairy or frozen sections.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic math and reading comprehension abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in grocery, retail, or other customer-facing roles.
• Knowledge of inventory management or merchandising processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
