Responsibilities of Bakery Sales Clerk:

• Partner with the Bakery Manager to oversee the preparation, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising of baked items
• The Bakery Sales Clerk's duties include providing high-quality customer service and making sure that Bakery products are adequately prepared, packaged, and displayed, with a strong emphasis on the cleanliness of the Bakery department
• As a Bakery Sales Clerk, you will maintain clean, safe, and sanitary bakery area and equipment including cleaning shelves and products, keeping floors free of spills, removing hazardous debris from floor, and sweeping
• Control stock quantity, maintain shelf organization, exhibit products in an orderly fashion, and validate pricing accuracy while examining the rotation of bakery products and discarding expired or spoiled items
• Review, record, and log items to confirm the precision of the shipment, the thermal accuracy, and the quality assessment

Qualifications of Bakery Sales Clerk:

• The selected individual will need to showcase a solid dedication to work and outstanding communication proficiencies for effective interaction with coworkers and clients.
• Display dependability and trustworthiness by being open to working hours that may vary and include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Exhibit a friendly and engaging demeanor, radiating positivity and skilled interaction with our clientele.
• Demonstrating effective communication skills and the ability to cooperate within a team setting are important competencies
• Display aptitude in responding to phone calls and attending to individualized requests effectively
• Keep the department orderly and sanitary by completing general housekeeping responsibilities, such as cleaning and disinfecting workspaces, floors, walls, and cooling equipment.
• Be able to operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed. Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift. This role also requires vertically transferring trays up to 5 lbs., from 7 to 64 for up to 10 hours, and vertically/horizontally transferring items up to 40 lbs., from 5 to 36, for a distance up to 36 feet for up to 10 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Abide by safety, health, and Weights and Measures guidelines to successfully acquire and uphold a Food Handlers permit.
