Role and Responsibilities:
The Grocery Store Bagger plays an essential role in creating a positive shopping experience by ensuring efficient, accurate, and friendly service at checkout. This position is responsible for careful handling of groceries, assisting customers with purchases, and keeping the front-end area clean and organized. Key responsibilities include:
- Warmly greet, assist, and thank customers in a courteous and timely manner.
- Help customers unload items at checkout and bag groceries safely to prevent damage.
- Assist with loading groceries into customer vehicles when requested.
- Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and surrounding store areas.
- Verify product pricing across store departments as needed.
- Restock and use supplies efficiently to reduce waste.
- Return misplaced or unwanted items to the correct department.
- Maintain clean and safe checkout lanes, cart storage, and work areas.
- Identify and report hazards, faulty equipment, or suspicious activity to management.
- Support loss prevention efforts by reporting theft or policy violations.
- Perform other tasks as directed by store leadership.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must meet the company’s minimum age requirement.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Capable of following both written and verbal instructions.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Successful completion of background check and pre-employment drug screening.
