Role and Responsibilities:
As a Grocery Store Stocker, you will ensure grocery sections are organized, fully stocked, and clean, helping customers have a seamless shopping experience. Your key responsibilities include:
- Unload deliveries and transport items to appropriate storage areas.
- Stock shelves following the store’s planogram to maintain accurate product placement.
- Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Label products clearly with prices and maintain visible signage.
- Arrange shelves for neat, customer-friendly displays.
- Monitor inventory levels and alert managers when restocking is required.
- Conduct inventory checks and keep backstock organized.
- Remove damaged, expired, or recalled products promptly.
- Assist and greet customers, providing product information and guidance.
- Maintain clear aisles and safe shopping areas.
- Stay informed about store promotions, seasonal products, and inventory.
- Clean shelves, displays, and storage areas regularly.
- Follow safety protocols, including proper lifting and equipment usage.
- Report hazards or equipment issues to management.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth store operations.
- Communicate effectively with managers regarding inventory and operational needs.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in retail, grocery, or stocking is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or with a team.
- Basic math skills for inventory and product labeling.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
