Job Summary of Deli Crew Member:

A Deli Crew Member's key responsibility is to cater to customers courteously and ensure their orders are prepared correctly in the deli department. Their tasks involve offering top-notch customer service and handling the preparation, slicing, weighing, packaging, and presentation of deli items such as meats, cheeses, and salads. They are also required to maintain a spotless work area, follow food safety regulations, and guarantee that all items are fresh, appropriately labeled, and attractively displayed.

Responsibilities of Deli Crew Member:

• Conduct slicing, cutting, measuring, and pricing of products in a kind approach.
• Prepare orders to meet the specific needs and preferences of customers.
• Transport deli items from the receiving dock to storage areas as part of the stocking process.
• Continuously monitor shelves and cases to guarantee they are adequately filled.
• Safeguard product freshness through effective coding practices and regular rotation, discarding out-of-code items daily.
• Display prices for all products in a clear and organized manner as specified in the pricing guide.
• Sustain a collection of new arrivals and attractive weekly specials.
• Introduce customers to recently launched products and weekly discounts.
• Report any temperature failures in the storage areas to the relevant manager immediately.
• Follow the established guidelines and protocols within the department.
• Welcome every client and pay attention to details.
• Adhere to the company policies as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
• Enforce a consistent cleaning and sanitation schedule that meets the criteria specified by the store, local, and state health regulations.
• Assist with the preparation of hot dishes and all other food selections.

Qualifications of Deli Crew Member:

• Must have strong communication skills for dealing with customers.
• Must have basic math skills for weighing and pricing products.
• Must have dexterity in hands to enable slicing and preparing of all deli products.
• Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds up to twenty percent (20%) of the time.
