Role and Responsibilities

Your responsibility is to deliver excellent service to customers and uphold a welcoming, clean environment that incentivizes repeat visits. Collaborating with the department manager to meet financial objectives, overseeing quality control benchmarks, and engaging with the Deli/Bakery team to enhance customer interactions are key aspects of your role.

• Enhance the customer experience by delivering exceptional service and introducing customers to new items through the provision of product samples.
• Ensure the department's safety and hygiene standards are upheld and comply with regulations concerning food safety.
• Ensure the accurate preparation, packaging, tagging, and stocktaking of cheese goods.
• Monitor sell-by dates of products and take necessary measures to minimize shrinkage.
• Share the latest offers and deals at the Cheese Shop while addressing any queries regarding the range of products offered.
• Follow recipes by blending and measuring components with various kitchen implements and devices.
• Classify, mark, and monitor retail goods within the department, notifying higher-ups of any deviations detected.
• Keep appropriate temperature levels within containers and refrigerators while accurately recording information.
• Enhance safety protocols through the identification and reporting of unsafe conditions and events.
• Engage in teamwork within a high-energy workplace and address disputes with a professional approach.

Required Skills and Experience

• Effective communication skills.
• Essential numerical competencies like tallying, combining, and reducing values.
• Capacity to manage high-pressure scenarios with tranquility.
• A high school diploma or its comparable educational qualification is necessary.
• Candidates with relevant retail experience are preferred.
• Having a good understanding of the products within the department in order to answer queries and provide advice.
• Skill in obeying directives and reaching out for support when required.
• Capacity to fulfill core job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
