Job Summary of Online Order Clerk:

To provide excellent customer service when processing orders from the ShopRite website, including selecting items, addressing any concerns with customers, packing the orders into bags and totes, storing them appropriately, invoicing the orders, delivering them to customers' vehicles, and accepting payments. The Online Order Clerk is tasked with precisely choosing, packaging, and getting customer online orders ready for pickup or delivery. This position guarantees that orders are fulfilled promptly, adhere to quality guidelines, and offer customers a seamless and enjoyable shopping interaction

Qualifications of Online Order Clerk:

• Proficiency in English entails the skill to effectively comprehend, communicate, interpret, and analyze written and spoken language.
• Proficiency in fundamental arithmetic operations.
• Capability to be on one's feet throughout the entire assigned work period. Capable of standing, bending, turning, stretching, exerting force, pulling, and routinely picking up 25 lbs., with occasional lifting of 50 lbs.
• Capability to handle a variety of fresh, dried, or processed items, spices, and powders without experiencing adverse allergic reactions
• Capacity to endure dust and chemical substances while performing regular cleaning tasks.
• Capability to operate in different temperature conditions. Capacity to engage with clients in a pleasant and supportive manner.
• Skill in collaborating effectively with peers.
• Capability to adhere to designated work hours and follow all policies regarding punctuality and attendance requirements.

Responsibilities of Online Order Clerk:

• Effectively recognize merchandise across different sections. Possess expertise in selecting premium perishable goods
• Have the capability to replace similar products in case the item desired by the client is unavailable.
• This role demands proficient communication abilities both over the phone and face-to-face. Effectively choose and arrange the Customer's possessions with precision.
• Safely and efficiently organize customers' orders for maximum convenience.
• Prepare the work area for the selection procedure. Combine the filled containers to make sure they are set for customers to pick up or be delivered. Give importance to the temperature-regulated containers by placing them in the appropriate area, such as a cooler.
• The exporting procedure encompasses handling various types of payments like cash, credit cards, checks, electronic benefit transfer (EBT), Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) benefits, rain checks, discount coupons, vouchers, gift cards, etc.
• Ensure correct handling of payments and give back accurate change. Proficiency in making change using various U.S. currency denominations.
• Comprehend the functioning of the cash register and adhere to all protocols for handling cash, where necessary.
• Arrange documentation to finalize a customer's transaction and file with precision. Organize workstation for the selection procedure.
• All e-commerce employees should be prepared and capable of carrying out selecting, consolidating, and exporting duties, in addition to fulfilling the general responsibilities outlined for the department.
• Welcome all patrons and offer them immediate, polite support and aid.
• Possess understanding of the range of merchandise available in the store. Acquire familiarity with the selection tools and software.
• Ensure the highest quality by correctly managing all items in a customer's order. Frequently lift, move, push, and turn products weighing 25 lbs, and sometimes reaching 50 lbs.
• Verify prices and have familiarity with the whereabouts of products within the store. Advertise ongoing charitable campaigns to customers to encourage sales.
• Remain upright at workstation for the entirety of assigned shift, potentially surpassing 8 hours daily. Comprehend and comply with Company regulations on reducing losses in the context of Online Shopping Department functions.
• Uphold a work environment that is tidy, well-organized, and conducive to safety.
• Adhere to sanitation guidelines by cleaning and disinfecting work areas, tools, and machinery as outlined by the Department of Sanitation and quality assurance protocols. Ensure that the floor is free from any clutter or liquid spills.
• Ensure compliance with the relevant Federal, State, and Local laws that apply to the functioning of the Online Shopping platform.
• Adhere to all Company guidelines, regulations, safety protocols, and security measures, as well as comply with relevant health and civil code regulations at the Local, State, and Federal levels.
• Adhere to the guidelines set by the company regarding attire and grooming, which includes wearing the specified uniform, displaying the name badge, and using a hat or hair accessory as required.
• Follow the company's quality assurance guidelines for hand washing and wear disposable gloves when dealing with food items. Adhere to the procedures outlined in the HAZCOM program and follow the recommended instructions on chemical product labels to ensure safe and proper usage.
• Follow department guidelines for equipment usage and upkeep, promptly notifying of any malfunctions. Participate in and finish all necessary departmental training sessions. Adhere to ShopRite's Service Priorities of Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency in all tasks.
• Be sure to arrive on time and consistently for work. Be prepared to work extra hours when necessary. Collaborate effectively with colleagues.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old to handle balers, forklifts, pallet jacks, and cutting devices. Fulfill additional tasks as required.
