Butcher Block Supervisor

Description:

Safeway is looking for a skilled and dedicated Butcher Block Supervisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the butcher block department, ensuring our customers receive the highest quality meat and an exceptional shopping experience.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED or relevant work history
• At least one year of experience as a butcher or in a similar meat department role
• Proven leadership skills
• Exceptional customer service abilities

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the butcher block, including department staff scheduling, training, and task delegation.
• Implement and maintain all meat merchandising programs, ensuring product quality and department presentation meet company standards.
• Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation protocols, manage inventory, and ensure proper product rotation and ordering.
• Ensure the department provides a full variety of high-quality products, meeting division 'turn' goals for inventory.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all ad item displays and variety standards.
• Complete all required paperwork and reports as instructed by management.
• Perform other duties as needed to support the department and overall store operations.
